Bevan Bell was an eight-year-old
Kansas native when he decided that he wanted to "grow up and be in
movies." Although that daydream desire wouldn't come to fruition until
early 2003, he never stopped working toward the goal of working in the
"land of make-believe."
At the age of
18, Bevan was working as a part time editor at a television news station
in Memphis, TN. Two years later he would become tired of "not having
the shots he needed" while editing, thus moving through the natural
ranks of local television news he became a videographer/photojournalist.
The skills and techniques gained while working in television news merely
polished his chops before taking a bite out of independent film.
In 2003 Bevan
finally made the time to chase down his boyhood dream of acting. He was
selected to act in a supporting role in the film DOGME: POTLUCK. After
realizing that there were like-minded individuals in Memphis, TN chasing
down the Hollywood dream, he began to audition for various productions
in town.
Bevan joined
the ranks of
Rusted Sun Films after landing the lead role of
Brad, in their first short, THE VISITOR (2003). It was the close
relationship built on set that laid the groundwork for RSF's first
feature film, A COWBOY'S SILVER LINING (2004), a film that Bevan
Co-Directed, Wrote, Starred in, Shot, Edited, Composed, and Produced.
His dedication
and hard work to complete his first feature film won an award, The 2005
Barebones International Independent Film Festival Indie Auteur Award.
It was a fantastic honor for a first time filmmaker.
Bevan
continued to seek out acting roles in Memphis, DELUSIONS (2005), SLOW
DOWN... YOU'RE DATING TOO FAST (2005) and worked toward his second
feature length production DIVINE MANIPULATION OF THE THREADS (2006).
Again, he would wear a number of hats in the production including
writing, shooting, editing, acting, producing, scoring, and supervising
the production.
He has
recently finished a role in the film CURBSIDE CONFESSIONS (in
production) and can be seen in the upcoming Craig Brewer film, BLACK
SNAKE MOAN (2006).
Bevan now works as a Photographer/Editor
at Beyond Pix, has recently joined his fiancée in
San Francisco, and is writing another feature length film for production
in 2007.
